Lots of tidying to do before then as we wonder what will be in bloom this year when our gardens open to the general public July 17th 2016. Hoping it may be the peak season for our roses as it was last year.
After a 4 year wait the wisteria that was accidentally cut to 6 inches, is blooming. So are the apple trees and all the wonderful ground-covers donated to us by kind friends. See captioned photos by clicking on either photo below.
Until I took these photos, we did not realize how many varieties of tulips we have in our gardens.
Click on any tulip photo to see another dozen! Gail Butler guessed it was a windflower (Anenome) and when its buds opened we all agreed. Not sure exactly which anenome but it looks exactly like the Anenome blanda we've had for years, but MUCH smaller.
Please identify this tiny plant if you can. It is only 2 inches square and grew from tiny unlabelled bulbs bought at Vesey's Blowout Sale last October.
Then you might enjoy clicking on either photo to see this season's main garden projects. Be sure to read the photo captions to understand what is happening. A WINTER WONDERLAND. And we are thankful for our brightly painted buiidlings and Ed's snowblower.
For a full tour, click on any one photo to enter the photo gallery. A hint of our holiday decorations but without all the people who happily trooped through for treats, dinners and partying. We hope you too have enjoyed this so very special season. All the best to you for 2016!
The wonderful 30 f+ wisteria that was "accidently" cut to only 6 inches high by the carpenters in July of 2013 is now 12 ft+ and sprouted three small BLOOMS last week! Hope has been revived that it will show even more blossoms next spring.
Click on any of the photos below to see what else bloomed in our gardens this August. We have just UPDATED our Garden Photos.
You may now do VIRTUAL TOURS for JUNE 16, JUNE 30 and JULY 7th by clicking on the photos below. |
